There are two types of neural connectivity that are of interest: 1) Neuroanatomical, and 2) Neurofunctional. Neuroanatomical connectivity refers to the anatomical connections between different brain areas, whereas Neurofunctional connectivity refers to similarity of activity between different brain areas and is referred to in the literature as 'functional connectivity'. Visualization of these connectivities is important because insight can oftentimes be obtained about network organization in the brain.
